Flat Earth for X-Plane is the world's fastest flat earth/planar mapping software - it's a flight planner. Imagine a flight planner that looks like a sheet of paper, with a simple interface to a commercial flat earth mapping server with a few parameters. You can keep both implementations independent. So far there are about 200 new chart sheets listed on the server since the start of the year and the updates take up to three minutes.
If you are using Navigraph navigation charts, you probably also want to update the AIRAC files anyway, since Navigraph produces their own available for download online, but not all AIRAC files provide metric/imperial conversion parameters and you may have to add this information manually.
It can be a little confusing. The function of AWRS (and its successors) is to provide a graphical tactical air navigation display, the location of which is defined by a GeoRoute to an Airway Center (quadrant A). The primary function, the definition of a GeoRoute, is done by the topographic map provider, not by AWRS. They can only provide the product. As for the other parts of the program, they are just glued on top of the already existing products. 7211a4ac4a
